North Manchester Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
KOSCIUSKO — A North Manchester man was arrested for domestic battery after injuring and threatening a female.
Brian D. Eakright, 33, 12 W. Skyline Drive, North Manchester, is being charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Feb. 28, Eakright and a female were in a vehicle heading to Pierceton from North Manchester.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Eakright and the female were arguing. Eakright was driving in excess of 100 mph, saying he was going to run the vehicle into a tree and kill them both.
They arrived at a Speedway gas station and the female exited the vehicle. When she returned, the arguing continued.
The female opened the door to leave the vehicle, but Eakright grabbed her arm and pulled her back, throwing her across the vehicle’s seats. She attempted to exit again, but Eakright pulled the door shut on her ankle.
The female left the vehicle and ran to the gas station. She sustained bruises on both of her arms, scrapes on her stomach and upper chest and a laceration on her ankle.
Eakright was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on March 29, with a $5,750 surety and cash bond.
