NORTH WEBSTER — For parents whose children could become prone to restlessness during spring break next week, North Webster Community Public Library could have the answer.
Children can make a craft while listening to stories at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, or sign up to read to Echo the therapy dog, also on Tuesday with 15-minute reading sessions available from 4 to 5 p.m. Family Bingo is at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, with lots of chances to win and prizes for everyone.
Kids can take a scavenger hunt through the library, play games on the Youth Department computers, and check out books and movies. To keep the children entertained at home, parents can borrow a Book Buddy Play Kit. Each of the 24-themed kits contains books and educational toys and can be checked out for a week. For those planning a road trip over spring break, audio books or DVDs are available.
For the adults, there are still openings available for the Craft-A-Card Workshop at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5. Under the instruction of Wrenay Kann, participants will make three detailed greeting cards. The cost is $10 and includes all supplies. Pre-registration is required with the non-refundable payment due when registering.
Later that day at 6 p.m. dancing for fitness fun is available. Let’s Move is a dance exercise class that meets every Thursday evening. The group dances to a variety of music, tries new dance steps and gets a great workout. Adults of all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
For sewing enthusiasts, projects can be brought to the library sewing room where the library’s new programmable sewing machine features 100 built-in stitches and other convenient features. An instruction manual is available or ask the library staff for help. It’s free to use. Just sign in at the circulation desk. Sewing supplies are not provided.
