WINONA LAKE – Hannah Herbster set the Grace College softball program’s record for career stolen bases.
Herbster swiped her 74th base last week, topping Brooke Shell’s previous mark of 73 set in 2015. Herbster has been a base-stealing threat throughout her career.
The senior only stole five bases as a freshman but has blossomed in that role during her final three seasons. Herbster stole 26 times in 2016 and 31 times as a junior. She has 12 steals through 24 games so far this spring.
She is also third in career hits (22), sixth in doubles (28), seventh in triples (8) and is on pace to finish top-10 all-time for career batting average (.386).
