UPDATE — Child Injured And Drugs Discovered In Saturday Morning Accident
MILFORD — A 2-year-old male was injured in a car accident that occurred the morning of Saturday, March 24.
Kole F. Adams, 22, Tecumseh Drive, Nappanee, was driving north on CR 300E when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Witness Randy Kubley was behind Adams’ vehicle at the time of the accident. He was about to call 911 due to the vehicle’s erratic driving when the crash occurred.
Kubley helped Adams from the vehicle and discovered a 2-year-old passenger that wasn’t buckled into a car seat. He saw a cut on the child’s head and applied direct pressure to the wound while waiting for officers to arrive at the scene.
Adams complained of pain in his abdomen and pelvis.
Both Adams and the child were transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for their injuries.
While looking for registration in the vehicle, officers discovered a small blue straw that tested positive for methamphetamine, a silver colored metal pipe and a small plastic bag containing an unknown yellow powder substance.
Damages were estimated at up to $25,000.
