Whitko Middle School To Host 400 Archers
LARWILL — Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, marks the annual Whitko Archery Invitational. Whitko Middle School will play host to 400 students representing 27 different schools with teams traveling from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.
For a bit of perspective, the Michigan State tournament, just two weeks ago, had 25 teams participating, making Whitko’s event one of the largest gatherings of archers in Northern Indiana.
“Did we envision our event being larger than a state tourney?” Said coach Bill Green. “Actually no, but this is a credit to our student archers who compete as individual schools, but are united as Whitko from the beginning.”
Flight times are scheduled for Friday are at 6, 7, and 8 p.m. as well as Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. hourly.
