Warsaw Man Charged With Synthetic Identity Deception, Application Fraud
WARSAW — A Warsaw man is being charged with identity deception after he gave officers his birth name and not the fake name listed on his driver’s license.
Hugo Arturo Ramirez, 32, 3699 N CR 175E, Lot 104, Warsaw, is being charged with synthetic identity deception, a level 6 felony, and application fraud, a level 6 felony.
On Feb. 16, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic battery call in Warsaw. Upon arrival the officer talked with the victim who advised her husband, Ramirez, had left the area and most likely went to the other side of the trailer park.
The officer asked all individuals at the location to present their identification cards. The officer asked the homeowner where Ramirez was and the homeowner replied that he was Ramirez. Ramirez had given the officer a state identification card with the name of Elisamuel Reyes Martinez. The photograph on the identification card was the same person identifying himself as Ramirez.
The subject confirmed that he was Ramirez and admitted to using a state identification card with false or fictitious information. Ramirez admitted to going to the BMV in 2016 and providing false information to obtain the state identification card.
Ramirez was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on March 20, with a $5,500 surety and cash bond.
