Valley Winter Sports: Award Winners Named
AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley announced its sports awards for the winter sports season on Wednesday.
Sophie Bussard won the girls basketball team awards for field goal and free throw percentage, rebounds, steals and assists. Addy Miller was the high 3-point percentage shooter, Jillian Walls was named most improved, and Olivia Trippiedi won the mental attitude and booster club awards. Trippiedi, Bussard, Miller and Asia O’Connor won the captains award.
For the boys basketball team, Tanner Trippiedi was the 3-point percentage award-winner, as well as the assist award winner and MVP. Cameron Parker was the high free throw percentage winner, Alex Morrison won the rebound award, Jalen Shepherd was the mental attitude award-winner, and Dakota Parker won the booster club award. Dakota Parker, Wes Melanson, Trippiedi and Morrison were all captain award-winners.
For the boys swim and dive team, Chase Brower was named MVP, Grayson Sriver was most improved, Tucker Shull was rookie of the year, Travis Shull won the work ethic award, and Mason Stephen won the mental attitude award. Dakota Prater won the booster club award, and Jacob McDonald and Travis Shull were captain award-winners.
On the girls side of the swim program, Shelby Baker won both the work ethic and booster club awards, Olivia Livengood was named MVP, Marissa Mclean was most improved, Mayde Fear won the mental attitude award, and Ava Craig was rookie of the year. Livengood and Tiphanie Hodge were given captain awards.
In wrestling, Jon Humes was named MVP, won the award for most pins and was named Mr. Takedown. Isaac Randall won the award for fastest pin and the booster club, Haley Brown was most improved, and Luis Castillo won the mental attitude award. Randall and Jordan Owens were team captains.
In cheerleading, Kaitlynd Heiden-Moore was named most outstanding and won the booster club award. Katie Reutebuch won the mental attitude award, and Angelica Ortega and Olivia Bell were captains.
Tippecanoe Valley Middle School also named its winter sports award-winners.
