Dona Jean Hatfield
Dona Jean Hatfield, 94, died March 15, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.
She was born Aug. 20, 1923, to Paul and Ocie (Parker) Newcomb. On Oct. 22, 1946, she married George Davis Hatfield who died Dec. 25, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Chip (Paula) Gast, Warsaw; daughter, Kim (Kent) Ring, Claypool; four grandchildren: Doug Yarian, Warsaw; Chad (Fayth) Silveus, Phoenix, Ariz.; Samira (Daniel) Myers, Lake Placid, Fla.; Charissa (Matthew) Borden, Jupiter, Fla.; three great-grandchildren: Nilsson, Violet and Aiden.
She retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postmaster at Burket. She served on various boards of the Burket United Methodist Church, was involved in the missions program, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Prayer and Share group. A gracious lady, she never had anything bad to say about anyone. She was well loved by all who knew her, and she reflected the love of Christ in many practical and encouraging ways.
Memorial contributions in honor of Hatfield may be given to the Burket United Methodist Church.
