Katie Marie Miller
Katie Marie Miller, 75 years and 11 days, Nappanee, died 10:35 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born March 4, 1943, in LaGrange County to Amos A. and Sarah Edna (Schrock) Bontrager. On May 9,1963, she married Levi “Lee” Miller.
Surviving is her husband, Levi, Nappanee; four children: Sara Jean (John) Hochstetler, Nappanee; Jerry Lee (Erma) Miller, Shipshewana; Joe Allen (Alma) Miller, Nappanee; John James (Julie) Miller, Middlebury; four siblings: Anna Sue Lambright, Shipshewana; Orva J. (Elsie) Bontrager, Shipshewana; Wilma (Casper) Hochstetler, Shipshewana; Elmer Dean (Louise) Bontrager, Sarasota, Fla.; 25 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, a great-grandchild, Olivia Miller, and a brother-in-law, Menno Lambright.
Katie Miller was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church, Nappanee.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, and all-day Saturday, March 17, at Joe and Alma Miller’s residence, 70951 CR 9, Nappanee. A funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 18, also at 70951 CR 9, Nappanee. The home ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will take place in West Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Pall bearers are Nathan Troyer, Lynn Troyer, Carlisle Hershberger, Sam Helmuth, Joe Hochstetler, and Luke Schrock.
