JoEtta Stump
JoEtta Stump, 65, Ligonier, passed away on Thursday morning, March 15, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on July 21, 1952, the daughter of Joseph “Joe” W. and Roalice (Wheatley) James in Norton, Va. On Nov. 27, 1971, she married Sammy K. Stump in Ligonier; he survives.
Also surviving is her son, Jason Stump, Cromwell; a sister, Glenna (Jim) Clark, Ligonier; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; along with her grand-dog, Trooper of Ligonier. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marty Coburn, and a brother Jeffrey “Jeffro” James.
Mrs. Stump retired from Parker-Hannifin in Goshen after over 30 years of faithful service and was a member of Strong Tower Worship Center in Ligonier. She was a very special lady that loved baking, canning, and was an all around super star in the kitchen. Jody enjoyed being in her rocker on her front porch with her sweetheart Sam, and visiting with locals as they would go by and often stop to chat. More than anything she loved and cherished her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held in JoEtta Stump’s honor at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Strong Tower Worship Center, 502 West Diamond Lake Road, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joshua Vargas will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Monday, March 19,at the Strong Tower Worship Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to Strong Tower Worship Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
