Lakeland Art Association To Hold Annual Spring Juried Show In May
WARSAW — Lakeland Art Association will hold its annual Spring Juried Show in May. This will be a wonderful exhibit, with many awards presented.
Artwork can be dropped off at the Lakeland gallery between noon and 6 p.m. Sunday April 29. You will be notified of any work that is juried out by the judge, which can be picked up between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 4. If you are not notified, you may assume all of your submissions were juried in. An artist reception and presentation of awards will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 6.
The exhibit is participating in a new art exchange with Heartland Gallery, 101 N. Michigan St. Plymouth, this year. Artists who opt-in will have their work transported for them to Heartland Gallery on June 3, where it will be displayed, with no additional entry fee, through June 30, with a reception to be held at Heartland from 1-4 p.m. June 10. If you choose to opt-out of the Heartland Art Exchange, you may pick up your artwork at the Lakeland gallery between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6. If you do participate in both shows, your work can be picked up between noon and 6 p.m. at the Lakeland Gallery Sunday, July 1.
All artwork must be original, No copy work will be accepted. All work must have been created in the last five years, and never previously displayed in either gallery. All media are welcome. Entries have no size limit, as long as we are capable of displaying it in the gallery. Two-dimensional work should be framed, with a wired back for hanging, or gallery-wrapped with painted edges.
Both Lakeland and Heartland charge a 30 percent commission on all sold work. Neither association can be held responsible for any damage to artwork, but all items will be handled with care.
