Che’ A. Hines
Che’ A. Hines, 44, Goshen, formerly of Columbia City, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in Goshen Hospital from respiratory failure after a brief illness. He was born June 17, 1973, to Eddie G. Hines and Sandra Y. (Moser) Carbone.
Surviving is his sweetheart, Ashley VanVurst, Goshen; mother, Sandra Carbone, Goshen; father and step-mom, Eddie (Jeanne) Hines, St. Paul, Minnesota; siblings: John (Sandra) Hines, Geneva, Darren (Cheryl) Hines, Sean Hines, Sara (Kyle) Ogle, Rachel Grubaugh, all of Goshen; Craig Troup, Nappanee; Ryan Carbone, Goshen; step-sisters: Gina Gould and family, of Fargo, N.D.; and Tracy Gould and family of New Prague, Minn.; brother-in-law, Matthew Grubaugh, Elkhart; maternal aunt and uncle, Sharilyn (James) Cartwright, South Bend; paternal uncle and aunt, Joe (Madeline) Hines, Albany; nieces and nephews, Kaleb and Abigail, Hazel and Greyson, Landon and Jade; cousins: Kimberly Godush, Kristin Brittain, Dustin Cartwright; caregiver, Ruth (Ray) Whitehead, New Paris; and his beloved dog, Belle.
Preceding him in death is his step-father, Jerry Carbone, maternal grandparents, Lester and Sarah Moser, paternal grandmother, June Jefferson.
Che’ was a 12 year employee of Wendy’s in Goshen and Dunlap. He participated in the Elkhart County Special Olympics and ADEC-Shoots, Goshen. He was a member of the Kiwanis Aktion Club and the Goshen Chapter of Power For Independence. He was a commissioned artist of the state of Indiana. Che’ was a donor through VisionFirst Indiana Lions Eye Bank.
Visitation will be from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 9, and a funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Pastor Troy Scott, Life Point Church, Goshen and Rev. Joe Hines, Church of the Brethren, Oakville will officiate. Burial will take place 2 p.m. following the service at Union Cemetery, Eaton.
