NORTH WEBSTER — An event in North Webster’s Community Center Banquet Hall March 17 will celebrate the Irish heritage.
A Taste of Ireland will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include samples of traditional Irish food, dancing and lessons on Irish history and inventions.
The event is hosted by North Webster Community Public Library and Friends of the Library. Tickets cost $9 per person and must be purchased in advance by March 16 at the library or from Friends of the Library members. There will be no ticket sales at the door. So don some green and celebrate everything Irish.
Celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s gothic science fiction novel Frankenstein, published in 1818, and watch the 1931 horror film at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the library’s Adult Movie Matinee. Bring snacks to munch and enjoy this monster movie classic.
Get moving every Thursday at 6 p.m. and dance for fitness. Let’s Move is a free weekly class that uses dancing as a form of exercise. It’s a whole lot more fun than the treadmill. The group dances to a variety of music styles, tries new dance steps and has a good time getting a great workout.
The kids, ages five to 12, will have fun exercising their creativity at Lego club, which begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10. Legos are provided for freestyle Lego building. Parents are encouraged to join in.
For younger children, Preschool Story Time encourages learning through stories, activities and crafts every Wednesday with two sessions at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Preschool Story Time runs through April 11 and is geared toward children ages three to six.
