Lee E. Gadson — UPDATED
Lee E. Gadson, 90, North Manchester, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, in Peabody Retirement Home.
He was born on April 18, 1927, in Marshfield, Wisc. to Gail and Alice (Miner) Gadson. On Jan. 12, 1952, in Rensselear, he was united in marriage to Betty Alberts, who preceded him on Sept. 1, 2017.
He was a truck driver and worked for R.R. Donnelly’s for 19 and a half years. He was a member of the Atwood Otterbein Church. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a seaman during WWII and was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post #15. In addition, he had a love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and motorcyclist. He covered all four coroners of our beautiful nation on his motorcycles.
He is survived by his daughters: Betty Ann (spouse Bob) Justice of Crestview, Fla.; Myra (spouse Gary) of Placitas, N.M.; sons: Steven (spouse Janice) Gadson of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and Jerry (spouse Marie) Gadson of Warsaw. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded by his wife Betty and his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 5, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 9-11 a.m., on Monday in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Jim Lawson will officiate the Funeral Service. Interment will be in Stony Point Cemetery, Etna Green. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard, American Legion Post #49 and VFW 1126.
