Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
8:44 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, North CR 800E and East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Drivers: Matthew T. Maloni, North Bishop Road, Syracuse, Nicholas J. Bradley, East Hunnicutt Drive, Syracuse. Maloni and Bradley each told police the other driver was driving left of center, causing a collision of the two vehicles’ sideview mirrors. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:01 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, South Columbia Street and West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Larry D. Richardson, Windsor Way, Warsaw, Justin S. Hertzler, Robb Road, Warsaw. Hertzler told police he was traveling northbound on South Columbia Street when he observed Richardson’s vehicle traveling southbound and in the middle of the road. Hertzler told police he used his horn but the other vehicle did not alter its path and collided with the rear driver’s side of the Hertzler vehicle, causing Richardson’s vehicle to leave the road an rest against the outside wall of a building on Columbia Street. Richardson was transported to the hospital for medical attention. Damage up to $10,000.
12:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, East US 30 and East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: David S. Heminger, East Pierceton Road, Warsaw, Johnathan J. Lubarski, Chamberlin Drive, Warsaw, Andrew Y. McCarty, Moody Road, Warner Robbins, Ga., Brian D. McCarty, Hunter’s Ridge, Warsaw. A witness at the scene told police the vehicle driven by Heminger passed on the right and swerved back into the left turn lane on westbound US 30, colliding with stopped traffic awaiting to turn left onto Center Street. Heminger was unconscious at the scene and was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Four injuries were reported by police in the accident with three of those victims transported to hospitals for medical attention. Damage up to $25,000.
