BOURBON — Triton School Corporation is the latest local school to report of a threat being made toward the school. Both Whitko School Corporation and Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation also reported threats earlier today, Feb. 28.
In a statement released shortly before 6 p.m., Triton School Corporation announced that after school today they were made aware of a threat.
“We have and are continuing to consult law enforcement and are currently looking into this unfortunate incident,” the statement reads. “The current information we are monitoring is leading us to believe the pictures have been used in previous posts or are Google images, but we will take nothing for granted.”
“I can ensure you we are taking this threat seriously and will keep you updated as we gather more information,” the statement continues. “Multiple agencies are looking into this and advising on how best to proceed.”
As a result of a cooperative effort between Cybercrimes authorities and Bourbon police, an arrest was made shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday morning, March 1.
