False Alarm At Ivy Tech Results In Evacuation
WARSAW — A false alarm at Warsaw’s Ivy Tech Community College campus caused an evacuation of the building on Silveus Crossing Tuesday evening, according to Chancellor Allyn Decker.
“It was a false alarm,” Decker said Wednesday. “There was apparently a test scheduled for another campus and we got inadvertently included.” Decker said as a result, law enforcement was called an evacuation was conducted in keeping with the facility’s protocol.
Four calls came in to county dispatch between 5:52 p.m. and 6:11 p.m. of a bomb threat at the campus. “We followed our procedures but found out after the fact that it was a mistake,” Decker said.
