Grace Soccer: Cone Accepts Head Coaching Position
WINONA LAKE – Grace College has announced that men’s soccer assistant coach Collin Cone has accepted the head men’s soccer coaching position at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
Cone spent three years at Grace where he was central to the recruiting efforts for the Lancers while also specializing in work with the goalkeepers.
He assisted Grace head coach Matt Hotchkin to a groundbreaking 2017 campaign. Grace won the Crossroads League Tournament this year and advanced to the NAIA National Championships for the first time in 35 years.
Cone also was a three-year starter for the Lancers. As a senior, he posted seven shutouts in the regular season to propel the Lancers to a third-place finish in the Crossroads League and was named to the All-League Team for his efforts.
Cone’s time as a student-athlete at Grace College included two straight trips to the NCCAA National Championships, which marked the first time that Grace College made back-to-back appearances since the 1982-83 seasons.
“Collin was a tremendous benefit to our program and to me personally. We will miss Collin, but we are very happy for him and Anna,” said Grace head coach Matt Hotchkin. “Any time one of our guys has the opportunity to lead his own program, it is a moment worth celebrating. I’m confident that Collin will do a fantastic job at LeTourneau.”
