Valley Basketball: Vikings Drop TRC Finale
BUNKER HILL – The Tippecanoe Valey boys basketball team wrapped up league play with a 40-33 loss at Maconaquah Thursday night.
The host Braves led at each stop to claim the Three Rivers Conference win.
Maconaquah led 8-6 after the opening quarter and 12-8 at halftime. The Vikings shot 4-22 from the field in the first half.
Alex Morrison led Valley with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Tanner Trippiedi scored seven points and Parkur Dalrymple had five for the Vikings.
Valley shot 15-47 overall for the game, including 2-10 from distance. The Vikings were 1-3 from the free throw line.
Chandler Pitts scored a game-high 20 points and had seven rebounds for the Braves. Ethan Larason added 10 points for the winners.
Maconaquah shot 17-38 from the field, including 3-15 from 3-point range. The hosts were 3-6 from the line.
Valley falls to 5-16 overall and finishes at 2-7 in TRC play. Maconaquah improves to 15-6 overall and is 7-1 in the TRC.
Valley plays at Wawasee tonight in its regular-season finale. The Vikings will then play either NorthWood or Fairfield in a semifinal game of the Class 3-A NorthWood Sectional on March 2 at 7:30 p.m. NorthWood faces Fairfield in a sectional first-round game Tuesday night in Nappanee.
Maconaquah plays at TRC foe Rochester in its regular-season finale tonight.
