City Of Warsaw Offering Sandbags, Urges Residents To Take Action Against Flooding
WARSAW — Because of recent record rains and snow melt, surface water levels are expected to rise over the next 48 hours to near record crests. In anticipation of that, those in flood prone areas are advised to take appropriate action.
The Warsaw Street Department has a good supply of sandbags on pallets that can be delivered to residents within the corporate city limits of Warsaw on a first come, first served basis. After that, crews with volunteer assistance will be filling bags to meet demand. You may call the Street Department at (574) 372-9561 to request bags and to volunteer to fill bags.
Please be advised to not to drive through flooded areas and to seek alternate shelter if flood waters threaten your structure.
