Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:23 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, Argonne Road, south of Durbin Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Julie Manges, Walker’s Ridge, Warsaw, Daniel L. Pruitt, Sunday Lane, Winona Lake. Manges told police she was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Durbin Street and Argonne Road and proceeded into the intersection when the vehicle driven by Pruitt entered the intersection and collided with her vehicle. Manges told police that Pruitt accelerated his vehicle into the intersection and Pruitt told police he had the right of way. Damage up to $5,000.
2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Driver: Leah A. Stahl, Neer Drive, Silver Lake. Police were told by Norman R. Moroni, South Portland Street, Knox that he was bent down on his hands and knees behind Stahl’s vehicle cleaning out underground fuel tanks when he felt the rear bumper of Stahl’s vehicle strike him in the back. He told police he rolled away from the vehicle. Stahl told police she began backing up when she heard someone yell and curse. She told police she never saw Moroni and that no cones or a barricade were placed at the site. Moroni was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damage less than $750.
1:31 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, West Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Hannah M. Alcala, Rattington Circle, Warsaw. Police were told by Kaci Raymer, Ontario Lane, Warsaw, that Alcala backed out of a parking spot, hit her as she walked, then drove to an ATM before leaving the scene. Alcala was located and reported she and the pedestrian made gestures to each other that led her to believe she never struck Raymer. Police reported no damage or dust removal to the vehicle. Police are still investigating the incident. Damage less than $750.
