Leesburg Man Arrested For Domestic Battery On Valentine’s Day
KOSCIUSKO—A Leesburg man was arrested for domestic battery against a female.
Michael Scott Lewis, 33, 302 Donna St., is being charged with domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
On Feb. 14, officers met with a female subject at a Wal-Mart regarding a domestic dispute that occurred between her and Lewis, the subject’s boyfriend.
The subject said she woke Lewis up to take him to work. He immediately started calling her names, including “c***.”
While the subject was driving Lewis to work, he became irritated, hitting her on the right side of her neck and head. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the subject ordered Lewis to get out of the car, but he refused and ripped off one of the mirrors.
The subject then drove back to their house with Lewis. Upon entering the house, Lewis continued to yell at the subject, grabbing her by the hair.
Two children at the house were scared, running out of the residence and getting into their mother’s car. They could still hear yelling and what sounded like objects falling on the floor.
Lewis was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 14, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
