Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:58 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, West CR 1350N and North CR 750W, Nappanee. Driver: Amos R. Caudill, Donna Street, Leesburg. Caudill told police that he did not see a patch of standing water due to darkness. Caudill’s vehicle slid off the road and hit a tree after hitting the standing water. Damage up to $5,000.
12:47 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, West CR 1100N, east of North CR 900W, Nappanee. Drivers: Michael R. Slabaugh, West CR 1100 N, Nappanne, Melissa Sharkey, CR 20, Goshen. Slabaugh told police he was backing his vehicle out of his driveway and didn’t see the vehicle driven by Sharkey, which caused the collision. Damage up to $5,000.
7:43 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, North SR 13 and East Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver: Krista M. Drumm. Drumm told police her vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000
7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, North CR 400E and E CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Beverley J. Worth, North CR 20E, Warsaw. Worth told police she was northbound on CR 400E when her vehicle began to slide on ice, causing it to leave the roadway and enter the ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
