Warsaw Man Arrested For Domestic Battery With A Child Present
WARSAW—A Warsaw man was arrested for domestic battery against a female while a child was present.
Richard Allen Parr, 40, 2575 E. Center St., is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Feb. 12, police responded to the report of a domestic dispute at the Deluxe Inn.
When police arrived, Parr stated that he and his girlfriend were arguing about money. He admitted that there was yelling and screaming, but he said there was no physical abuse.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Parr and his girlfriend were arguing when he pushed her onto the bed, using his fists to hit her head.
The female subject said she tried to defend herself and push Parr away. Police saw red marks and scratches on Parr’s neck.
A child was present in the room when the domestic battery occurred. The child told Parr to stop and get off of the subject.
The subject who reported the disturbance was staying in the room directly below Parr’s.
She said she could hear the female subject saying, “Someone help and call the cops. He’s beating me up.” She also heard a child screaming, “Please stop.”
Parr was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 12, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
