Thomas W. Berkey
Thomas W. Berkey, 61, of Goshen died Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 2018, at his home. He had been diagnosed with cancer in 2016.
He was born Sept. 6, 1956, in Goshen to Glen D. and AnnaBelle (Juday) Berkey.
Survivors include six children: Andrew Berkey of Elkhart, Michael (James) Berkey Chapin of Mason City, Iowa, Angela Wigent of Elkhart, Daniel Berkey of Anderson, Heather (Patrick) McLain of Lawton, Mich. and Nicole (Dwane) Davis of New Paris; eight grandchildren; six siblings, Belva Belcher, Ralph Berkey and Ruby (Dewayne) Miller, all of Goshen, Deloris “Dede” (Gilbert) Beemer of North Port, Fla., Vada (Richard) Berkey of Middlebury, and Jeff (Betty) Berkey of New Paris; and half-sisters, Laverle (Glen) Larmier of Goshen and Sharon (Jerry) Angel of Elkhart.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, MaryKatherine Bartholomew.
Berkey attended Goshen High School and owned and operated Berkey’s Trash Hauling. He also worked for Thompson’s Towing, Miller Sewer Cleaning, and Dick’s Auto Parts.
He enjoyed spending time with family, restoring old cars; collecting model ships and anything related to Harley-Davidson.
Friends may call Thursday from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will follow at Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen.
