Patricia A. Radecki Kissinger
Patricia Ann “Pat” Radecki Kissinger, 80,Mentone, passed at 10:30 am, Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at her residence. She was born Aug. 13, 1937, in South Bend to Michael Lewis and Helen Josephine (Szczypiorski) Radecki. She was one of five Radecki children and grew up on the Radecki family farm in Niles, Mich.
She graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 1956 and attended Bethel College. As a young woman she served as a missionary with her good friend Phyllis Martin Griffith in North Carolina, Cuba, and Florida. She then worked for Harmony Press of Bourbon.
Pat married Jerry Kissinger on July 2, 1976, in Mentone, who survives.
She shared a close relationship with her siblings and especially enjoyed the two-day trips to Shipshewana with her sisters each year. She loved to travel and was able to be in every state except Hawaii. She made many memorable trips with two of her beloved friends, Betty Thorn and Barbara Morgan of Scott Depot, W.Va. She enjoyed many other trips with friends from this area while the children were growing up. Pat also loved to read, do puzzles, and pray. Her prayers were an inspiration to others and especially to her husband.
She chose to follow Christ as a young girl. She depended on Him and the prayers of her church family as well as many others to sustain her in the valiant fight against the affliction that took her life.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Kissinger of Mentone; a son, David (Tallie) Kissinger of Maumee, Ohio; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Jonathan) Lewis of Burlington; grandchildren: Maria (Ben) Knight, Patrick Lewis, Charlie Kissinger, Ruby Kissinger, Carter Wiese, Quinten Wiese; great-grandsons: Henry and Caspian; a sister, Betty Dodd of Niles, Mich. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Cripe; and brothers Richard and Harry Radecki.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Thomas Harman officiating. The graveside service will follow at the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at the funeral home.
