Wawasee Gymnastics: Warriors Get Road Victory
HUNTINGTON – In its bi-annual trip to the gymnastics regional site, Wawasee made good on the trip through Thursday’s fog and defeated Huntington North 105.1-104.2.
It wasn’t the finest showing Wawasee has had, but one of its better road scores of the year, and on equipment it will need to enjoy if the Lady Warriors are fortunate enough to return to on March 3.
Jada Parzygnot and Reagan Atwood each had a first-place finish, Parzygnot a 9.025 on bars and Atwood a 9.35 on beam. Atwood took second on vault at 8.9, bars at 8.675 and floor at 9.3. Parzygnot took third on vault at 8.825, but faltered on beam, scoring just a 7.85, however had teammate Aundreya Wegener step up and post an 8.85 for third.
Huntington had Laora Pampaioni take first on vault at 9.1 and Aleah Eckert score a 9.35 for honors on floor.
Wawasee moves to 8-1 on the dual season, its final meet at home Tuesday against Plymouth before the Wawasee Sectional on Feb. 24.
