Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
12:53 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, Roy Street, east of Marjorie Street, Winona Lake. Driver: Remington W. Swanson, 17, Marjorie Street, Winona Lake. Swanson advised his vehicle began to slide on the snow-covered roadway, resulting in the vehicle striking a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
9:42 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, East US 30 and South SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Justin R. Hershberger, 39, North Williams Street, Nappanee. Hershberger advised he began to brake for a red light, but due to ice and slush on the road, the vehicle began to spin, leaving the north side of the road and striking an INDOT sign. Damage up to $2,500.
11:17 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, East CR 450N, east of Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Nathan J. Marchand, 34, South SR 5, Pierceton, and David J. Lambert, 42, EMS B25A Lane, Pierceton. Marchand’s vehicle crossed the center line, striking Lambert’s vehicle head-on. Damage up to $25,000.
10:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, North CR 100E and East CR 250N, Warsaw. Drivers: Tosha M. Johnson, 24, North CR 100E, Warsaw, and Bambi N. Harris, 38, East Market Street, Warsaw. Johnson’s vehicle rear-ended Harris’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
5:03 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, East Bowser Road, north of East CR 1200N, Syracuse. Driver: Scott S. LeCount, 56, Lively Lane, Dallas, Texas. LeCount stated that the roads were slick and he was driving a little too fast. He lost control of his vehicle on a curve, striking a tree. Damage up to $10,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:01 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, North Old SR 15, Milford. Driver: Todd A. Wyatt, 45, Red Cedar Road, New Paris. An officer was dispatched to a one vehicle slide-off. Upon arrival, no one was at the scene. The vehicle was in a ditch on the east side of the roadway. The officer observed footprints leading to a home on Old SR 15. After making contact with the driver of the vehicle at this residence, a PBT was administered. The results read .170. Wyatt was then taken to Kosciusko County Jail where a certified breath test was administered, with the results at .162. Wyatt was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail and charged with OWI. Damage up to $2,500.
3:02 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, East CR 1250N, west of North CR 100E, Milford. Driver: Nolberto M. Briceno, 38, South Maple Street, Milford. Briceno applied his brakes to slow his vehicle and slid into a creek. Damage up to $2,500.
8:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, West Emeline Street, north of Higbee Street, Milford. Drivers: Narcisco V. Sarinana, 47, Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, and William R. Walker, 59, South James Street, Milford. Sarinana was backing out of a lot on West Emeline Street as Walker’s vehicle was pulling in. Sarinana’s vehicle struck Walker’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:37 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, North Old SR 15 and East Syracuse Street, Milford. Drivers: Juan Flores, 46, North Perry Drive, Milford, and Michelle R. Hatfield, 52, North Kern Road, Syracuse. Flores advised he reached the stop sign and his vehicle slid through the intersection, striking Hatfield’s vehicle, resulting in Hatfield’s vehicle striking a mailbox. Damage up to $2,500.
2:26 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, East CR 1300N, east of Old SR 15, Milford. Driver: Thomas W. Yoder, 54, North Camelot Drive, Milford. Yoder’s vehicle went off the road into a ditch. Damage up to $25,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
11:18 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, South Huntington Street, south of West Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Tracey J. Wallace, 25, West Ellsworth Street, Columbia City. Wallace said the vehicle in front of him put on their turn signal late and when Wallace applied his brakes, his vehicle began to slide. To avoid striking the vehicle in front of him, Wallace said he chose to go into a ditch. Damage up to $10,000.
11:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, West Main Street, south of North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Zachary E Reiff, 22, North Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse, and Robert E. Long, 57, North Main Street, Syracuse. Reiff’s vehicle slid into Long’s vehicle, striking the front left bumper. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
11:43 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, North Detroit Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amber N. Rundberg, 24, West Perry Street, Warsaw, and Brandon J. Cordell, 31, East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Rundberg advised she was adjusting her radio and did not realize her traffic light had turned red. Her vehicle struck Cordell’s vehicle at the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
4:17 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, US 30 and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Michael T. Schnotala, 59, 3rd Street, Fort Wayne, and Gerald S. Gregor, 63, Birchtree Lane, Fond Du Lac, Wisc. Schnotala believes his vehicle struck ice, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle began to swerve back and forth, resulting in Schnotala’s vehicle striking Gregor’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
12:51 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, Pine Street and West Market Street, Warsaw. Damage was reportedly done to a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Pine Street. Damage up to $1,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:54 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, South Packerton Road, north of East Sara Drive, Winona Lake. Driver: Jason E. Brandyberry, 35, Huffman Street, Winona Lake. Brandyberry advised his vehicle hydroplaned due to slushy road conditions, resulting in the vehicle striking a set of guy wire supports for a NIPSCO utility pole. A passenger in Brandyberry’s vehicle was transported to KCH with a possible head injury. Damage up to $10,000.
