ELKHART COUNTY — A widespread power outage hit Elkhart County Friday morning, affecting over 500 people according to NIPSCO.

As of 7 am, residents in Nappanee and Wakarusa are without power. A few outages have also been reported in La Porte and Valparaiso. Crews are currently working to restore power.
