Wawasee Basketball: Warriors Too Much For Panthers
SYRACUSE – Wawasee used a balanced attack to knock off NorthWood, 30-17, Thursday night in boys freshman basketball.
Justin Castro and Niles Hodges each scored eight points to lead the Warriors. Brandon Tayagua had five points and Jacob Meek added four points for Wawasee, which moves to 15-4 on the season.
NorthWood had Colin Glick lead the team with six points and four rebounds, Caleb Schwartz post five points and four boards, and Jacob Raasch and Jonas Miller with three points each.
The NLC tourney win for the Warriors moves them to Saturday’s semi-finals, where Wawasee will play host Concord at 9 a.m. at McCuen Gym. In the Concord Activity Gym, Warsaw and Memorial will play in the other semi-final also at 9 a.m. The two losing teams will play at 10:30 a.m. in the consolation game in the Activity Gym and the winning teams will play at 10:30 a.m. in the championship in McCuen Gym.
