Warsaw Man Arrested For Battery And Intimidation
WARSAW—A Warsaw man was arrested for assaulting an individual with a baseball bat.
Alfred Walter Paul McDonald, 52, 602 S. McClellan St., Warsaw, is being charged with battery while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; intimidation, a level 6 felony; and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony.
On Oct. 22, 2017, McDonald was driving a vehicle on a public road while intoxicated, which resulted in an accident. There were two other subjects, one male and one female, in the vehicle.
McDonald and the two subjects informed officers that the female was operating the vehicle during the accident.
Officers determined that all three people in the vehicle were lying and that McDonald was the driver.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, McDonald threatened to hurt the two subjects if they didn’t inform police that the female subject was operating the vehicle.
On Nov. 7, 2017, around 3 a.m., the male subject was assaulted by McDonald. McDonald used a baseball bat to hit the subject on the head and body.
McDonald stopped assaulting the male subject when the female subject’s mother entered the room. McDonald made the statement that the female subject was lucky because she was next.
McDonald was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 6, with a $3,500 surety and cash bond.
