Larry A. Flowers
Larry A. Flowers, 79, Topeka, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the Avalon Village Nursing home in Ligonier. He was born on Sept. 9, 1938, to William and Helen (Heffner) Flowers in Ligonier.
Larry Flowers was a life-long resident of Ligonier, before he moved to Topeka. He worked as a truck driver for the Mobile Home Industry. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1956 – 1958. He was also a member of the West Noble American Legion and liked to play golf and fish in his earlier years, while spending time with his friend, Jim Tuvell. He truly enjoyed his dog, Katie and his cat, Lamar.
He is survived by three daughters: Tonna (John) Slusher, Kimmell; Toni Flowers, North Webster; Tami (Dave) Brown, Syracuse; six grand-children; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Funk, Ligonier.
He is preceded in death by his parents; William and Helen Flowers.
A memorial service will be held in Larry’s honor at noon, Sunday, Feb. 11, at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN, where military honors will be rendered.
There will be a time of visitation from 10 a.m.-noon, Sunday, Feb. 11, prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
