Gladys Mary Schultz
Gladys Mary Schultz, 80, Ligonier, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, 2018, at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier. She was born Oct. 14, 1937, the daughter of Jasper Robb and Hazel May (Cox) Jones in Wheatfield. On Aug. 7, 1954, she married Fred M. “Fritz” Schultz in Wheatfield. He has since passed away in June of 2008.
In 1954 after getting married, they lived in Jasper-Pulaski County Game Preserve. There they spent many years raising their family. Around 1960, they moved to Ligonier because Fritz began to work for the Indiana State Police as a Communications Officer. For 20 plus years they both owned and operated a small business in Ligonier called Fritz T.V. She also was the Co-Founder of the Ligonier Historical Radio Museum since 1993. After the sale of their business, Gladys enjoyed grabbing a cup of coffee with her friends in and around town. Other hobbies of hers included observing people, and making doll houses. She truly was someone who everyone could call grandma, even when she wasn’t their grandmother. So many memories and so much love was shared with Gladys, she will truly be missed.
She is survived by her children: Mike Schultz, Ligonier; Mary Schultz, Ligonier; Mark (Hayley) Schultz, Kendallville; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; Parents, Jasper Robb and Hazel May Jones, and daughter, Marcella L. Schultz.
A cremation committal will take place with Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
