Area Accident Reports
KOSCIUSKO
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, West CR 1350N, near North CR 600W. Driver: Joyce C. Stricklin, 74, East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Stricklin came to the police station to report an accident she was in. Stricklin lost control of her vehicle due to ice, sliding off the road. Stricklin’s vehicle struck a pine tree. Damage up to $2,500.
5:23 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, South SR 25, north of South Ferguson Road. Driver: Courtney M. Larkin, 21, South Julian Drive, Warsaw. Larkin was driving north on SR 25 when she lost control of her vehicle and ran off the right side of the roadway. Larkin’s vehicle landed over a drainage ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
8:24 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, East CR 1300N, east of North CR 775E. Driver: Gregory S. Archer, 46, North Polyanna Pike, Cromwell. Police received a call about a single vehicle crash. Two males were standing next to the car, saying they arrived at the crash scene to see if anyone was injured. Archer was driving east when his vehicle left the roadway, crashed into a rock, then into a fence. Archer exited the vehicle and left the scene. On Feb. 2, Archer called dispatch to speak with the police. He was not injured in the crash, saying he got scared and left the scene instead of reporting the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
WARSAW
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:18 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, SR 15, near East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Cora G. Warstler, 21, South Street, Burket, and Ashley N. Saunders, 33, East CR 800S, Claypool. Warstler was driving north on SR 15, stopping at an intersection to turn left and drive west. A FedEx truck was driving south and was stopped at the intersection to turn left and drive east. The FedEx truck began to turn, and Warstler thought the intersection was clear. As Warstler’s vehicle began turning, it struck Saunders’ vehicle. Waster said that she didn’t see Saunders’ vehicle driving south on SR 15 because of the FedEx truck. Damage up to $10,000.
3:22 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1000 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. Paul D. Adkins, East Wooster Road, Pierceton, was parked at Menards. Two witnesses said they saw an unknown driver back out of a parking space, striking Adkins’ vehicle. The unknown driver checked for damage on Adkins’ vehicle, wiped the rear bumper, and drove away. Adkins’ vehicle had spider cracks in the paint on the rear bumper cover. Damage up to $2,500.
5:56 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, East Main Street, west of North Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: David M. Neace, 38, South CR 900W, Mentone, and Scott A. Flannery, 22, Lakeview Boulevard, Warsaw. Neace was plowing snow for the City of Warsaw and attempted to back up when he struck Flannery’s vehicle. Neace said that he didn’t see Flannery’s vehicle in his mirror before backing up. Damage up to $5,000.
