Norman L. Snyder
Norman L. Snyder, 79, Warsaw, passed away at 7:33 p.m., Feb. 5, 2018, in Kosciusko Community Hospital.
He was born on June 28, 1938, in Mexico to Raymond and Margaret (Burkett) Snyder. On June 26, 1976, in St. Petersburg, Fla. he was united in marriage to Dorothy Miller, who survives.
He had lived in Warsaw for 42 years and was the co-owner of The Party Shop in Warsaw. He attended Christ Methodist Church in Sarasota, Fla. He had been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
He sincerely loved his family and was an avid artist, farmer and mushroom hunter. He particularly loved his home in Florida and was proud of his business. He graduated from Mexico High School; he received a B.A. from Manchester College and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children: Julie (and companion Bob) Kingery, Mount Carrol, Ill.; Dr. Elaine (and spouse Dr. Mark) Shafer, Niles, Mich.; Dr. Connie (and spouse Brad) Mick, Niles, Mich.; Dana (and spouse Cornell) Vlot, Warsaw; and David (and spouse Janice) Hamrick, Winona Lake. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Griffin, Mexico; two nephews; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded by a granddaughter, Sarah Jane Vlot; a brother, Ronald and two sisters, Judith and Carolyn (Snyder) Reed.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9, and one hour prior to the funeral service at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw with Reverend Steve Ailes officiating. Private interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington, Indiana.
