WARSAW—A Warsaw man has been arrested after assaulting a female victim and threatening to kill her and her family.
Miguel Raymond Castro, 24, 501 N. Harrison St. Warsaw, is being charged with criminal confinement, a level 5 felony; battery causing moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and intimidation, a level 6 felony.
On Jan. 29, officers responded to a 911 call from a female stating that she was being held against her will. An officer arrived at the scene and the female answered. She said that Castro was inside the residence, and that she had a no trespass order against him.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Castro came to the female’s residence on Jan. 28 and told her that he was going to fix things that he had broken on Jan. 22. Castro became angry and hit the female in the head several times. The female stated she was having trouble hearing out of one of her ears.
Castro took the female’s car keys and phone, shutting her and her baby inside a bedroom. She found an old phone and called 911. Castro then threatened to kill her, the baby and her family.
The female was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for medical treatment. Medical personnel found the female had a tear in her left eardrum.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers entered the residence and spoke with Castro, who said he knew he wasn’t supposed to be at the residence because of the trespass warning.
Castro was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 29 with a $101,000 surety and cash bond. A no contact order was placed between Castro and the female.
