Marcia E. Bontrager
Marcia E. Bontrager, 90, Elkhart, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born July 14, 1927, in Rochester to Norman and Amelia (Behney) Baldwin.
On Nov. 11, 1950 she married Edward E. Bontrager.
He survives along with nine children: Dottie (Gail) Groves of Goshen; Diana (Gary) Cook of Edwardsburg, Mich.; Darlene (Steve) Fanning of Shipshewana; Deborah L. (Vern) Bontrager of Elkhart; Denise (Russell) Jensen of Fort Wayne; Deloris (Craig) Gibson of South Bend; Edward (Tami) Bontrager II of Warsaw; Donna (Tim) Miller of Tucson, Ariz.; and Dorene (Merle) Zook of Mount Sidney, Va.; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Ganshorn, a brother, Norman Baldwin II, and a grandson, Anthony Zook.
Bontrager was a member of Belmont Mennonite Church where she served as an elder and was active in the Mother’s Club and prayer group. She worked as a supervisor at Miles Laboratories, Elkhart.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2, at Belmont Mennonite Church, 925 Oxford St., Elkhart, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Her son-in-law, Pastor Russell Jensen, will officiate.
A private family burial will follow the service at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
