Lusso Swindles Homeowner For Repairs
WARSAW — Christopher Michael Lusso, 40, 49 EM B61F Lane, Warsaw, was arrested Sunday evening on charges of theft, a level 6 felony, and home improvement fraud, a class A misdemeanor, after receiving money from a homeowner for repairs on the residence, but never providing the repairs.
Deputies with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were notified Dec. 7, 2017, by a homeowner who reported she had signed a contract with Clear Water Carpentry owner Christopher Lusso and paid him half of the total cost, but he never performed the work.
The victim stated she met with Lusso Sept. 25, 2017, at her home and in the contract Lusso was to install a new roof, soffit, fascia boards and remove all the rotten wood. The project was to begin within seven days of delivery of the material and it would be completed in two weeks for a total of $7,000. Lusso returned to the victim Sept. 16 with the signed contract and the following day $3,500 was wired to his bank account by the victim. However, as of Jan. 17 Lusso had not performed the work nor had any supplies been delivered.
He is being held on $9,500 surety and cash bond.
