Lakeview Ladies Claim Tourney Title
WAKARUSA – The Lakeview Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team continued its unbeaten season Saturday with two wins to claim the title of the Brad Eby Classic hosted by NorthWood Middle School.
Lakeview topped Lincoln 23-19 in a semifinal game of the tourney.
Lauren Grose led the way with six points. Tessa Graney, along with Rylee Burns and Macy Wayne each had four points for Lakeview and Lauren Eastwood and Riley Boren each addd two points.
Lakeview defeated host NorthWood 33-11 in the championship contest.
Wayne paced the champions with eight point. Grose had six points and Eastwood five. Kinsey Atkins scored four points, while Jules Leininger, Macy Perry, Graney and Burns each had two.
Lakeview, now 8-0, will play Edgewood on Wednesday evening.
The Lakeview 8th grade girls team went 1-1 in the NorthWood tourney.
Lakeview lost to Lincoln 21-12 in its first game and then defeated Fremont 28-24.
Cora West scored 15 points on the day to lead Lakeview. Tori Jones totaled 14 points and Yasminn Avilla had four. Sydney Purvis, Kiersten Parker and Elizabeth Miner each had two points and Reggan Meadows one.
The Lakeview 8th grade, which will play Edgewood Wednesday, is now 6-2.
