Head Start Lego Night Draws VIP Volunteers
KOSCIUSKO — Attending trainings and meetings can be hard for busy parents, especially when they need childcare. Kosciusko Head Start made it easy for parents to attend a budget training class this week by providing onsite childcare. Parents knew their kids were in good hands because the volunteer childcare providers were local policemen, firemen and EMTs.
Ken Locke, from the Salvation Army, presented the budget meeting to parents while the children played in the Head Start classrooms. Fifteen officers volunteered with the children allowing parents to hear Locke’s presentation. Stations were set up in the classrooms with puzzles, games, books and of course lots of Legos.
Twenty-three families participated in the training.
