Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:47 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, West CR 100N, west of North Parks Schram Road, Warsaw. Driver: Jeremy L. Morgan, 36, Maye Street, Warsaw. Morgan lost control of his vehicle in a curve, it spun around and went off the roadway hitting a NIPSCO pole. Morgan complained of pain to his arm, chest/rib area and was taken to Parkview Warsaw. Damage up to $25,000.
1:59 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, North SR 13, south of East CR 500N, North Webster. Drivers: Emily I. Nusbaum and Margaret E. Karst. Nusbaum’s vehicle struck the back of the Karst vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
8:09 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Gwynn E. Santiago Kramer, 59, North Elm Grove Drive, Syracuse, and Monica M. Lambright, 61, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Kramer’s vehicle struck the Lambright vehicle as she was backing from a parking space. Damage up to $5,000.
3:39 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, South Packerton Road, north of East SR 14, Silver Lake. Drivers: Andrew A. Miller, 40, Groff Avenue, North Manchester, and Kenneth E. Kania, 59, North Heckathorn Drive, North Manchester. Miller’s vehicle struck the back of the Kania vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:47 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, North SR 13, south of CR 800N, North Webster. Driver: John-Christopher E. Hershbe, 25, Turtle Bay Drive, Syracuse. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:18 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, Anchorage Road and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Shanelle D. Byrer, 24, East Market Street, Warsaw, and Jane C. Teevan, 69, East Prestwick Road, Winona Lake. Byref’s vehicle struck the back of the Teevan vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, North Lake Street and West Main Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jennifer L. Deming, 43, South Hunters Ridge, Warsaw. Deming failed to see Sokun Seraypheap, 49, East 8 Square Road, Warsaw, walking across North Lake Street, before turning south onto North Lake Street. Deming’s vehicle struck Seraypheap, who complained of general pain and was taken Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage under $750.
11:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, Armstrong Road, Warsaw. Driver: Thomas K. Kapacinskas, 51, Bissell Street, South Bend. Kapacinskas’ vehicle backed into a parked vehicle, registered to Paquito A. Cruz Cedeno, North Meadow Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Damage up to $2,500.
2:17 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Kenneth A. Cretcher, 58, SR 10, Bourbon, and Shawn E. Shepherd, 18, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Cretcher started backing his vehicle from a parking space at the Meijer gas station and backed into the Shepherd vehicle. Damage up to 2,500.
1:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Richard W. Gensch, 85, South Washington Street, Pierceton, and Alan L. Walters, 55, Lynwood Lane, Village of Lakewood, Ill. Gensch had just paid for his food at the first drive up window and was pulling away when the clerk asked him something and when he backed his foot slipped off the brake and he backed into the front of the Walters vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
2:18 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Driver: Cassandra C. Stewart, 52, Gilliam Drive, South, Warsaw. Stewart complained of pain to the elbow/lower arm. Witnesses reported Stewart was driving crazy and was running into several vehicles. A witness jumped out of his parked vehicle and ran to the vehicle while the driver was still trying to drive away from the scene, but was able to reach through the window and shut the vehicle off and taking the keys. Surveillance video showed Stewart backing from a parking stall, hitting one parked vehicle, which caused it to be thrown sideways into another parked vehicle. Stewart then went forward, ran over the curb and hit a tree head on, backed up and drove forward turning right and hitting the left bumper of another vehicle. She then backed up again and drove forward hitting another vehicle and then running into a fifth vehicle causing the vehicles to become stuck together. Damage up to $100,000.
