Warsaw Little League Issues Statement After Arrest Of Former President For Sexual Battery
WARSAW — On Jan. 19, former Warsaw Little League President Lance Leeper was arrested on charges of sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Leeper had been involved with the little league program for nearly two decades. The current Warsaw Little League President Randy Ehrlinger has since released the following statement.
“As some of you may have seen in the local media one of our longtime board members has had a very serious charge brought against him. I would like to ensure everyone that Warsaw Little League Board of Directors takes this situation very serious and we are following the guidelines set forth by Little League in responding to this situation. To the family involved we would like to extend our apologies that this has happened and this type of behavior will not be tolerated. We are making all efforts to ensure that our league is a family friendly safe park for our families and players.”
The charges stem from an incident that occured on New Year’s Eve. According to the affidavit of probable cause, a minor boy had spent the night at Leeper’s house. Leeper admitted to providing the minor with vodka and sexually touching the minor boy while he was sleeping.
