Sharon Elaine Whicker
Sharon Elaine Whicker, 75, and a longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away just after 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, in her residence.
Whicker was born Aug. 16, 1942, in Wakarusa. She was one of three children born of Arthur and Vera (Shelton) Pippenger.
She graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 1960. On Oct. 9, 1960, she was united in marriage to Charles “Joe” Whicker. Together they would share 57 years together prior to his passing on Jan. 23, 2012.
Sharon was a homemaker who enjoyed being a mom. She enjoyed puzzles, reading and crafts. She loved IU and was “cut-throat” at any games, even beating out her grandchildren at games like Chutes and Ladders. She also loved playing Euchre with her cousins. For many years, Whicker and her husband vacationed in Michigan’s UP and traveled to California each spring. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. She loved her roles as wife, mother and grandmother. Life was all about family for Sharon.
A list of Whicker’s closest family includes her two daughters: Amy (husband, Greg) Barry, Warsaw; and Linda (fiancé, Aaron Bice) Boeshart, Huntington Beach, Calif.; son, Joe (wife, Charlotte) Whicker, Elkhart; three grandchildren: Elly Boeshart, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Miranda (fiancé, Shawn Bowen) Whicker, Munster; and Erin Boeshart, Huntington Beach, Calif.; and a brother, Jay (wife, Janice) Pippenger, Warsaw.
Whicker was preceded in passing by her husband, Joe Whicker and sister, Janice Frederickson.
Friends and family will gather to share memories from 10 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Jan. 25, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow, beginning at noon in the Funeral Home with burial in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
