Leroy Farmwald
Leroy Farmwald, 83, Bremen, died at 8:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
He was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Nappanee to Levi and Elizabeth (Yoder) Farmwald. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. On March 13, 1958, he married Edna Helmuth. Farmwald was a farmer and a minister of the Older Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Farmwald; daughters: Naomi (Jerry) Miller, Rib Lake, Wisc.; Dorothy (Leon) Miller, Bremen; sons: Merle (Anna) Farmwald, Nappanee; Lloyd (Karen) Farmwald, Bourbon; 28 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; sisters: Katherine Farmwald, Milford; Martha Farmwald, Nappanee; Rachel (Harvey) Miller, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Polly Farmwald, Topeka. He was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Farmwald.
Family and friends may call after 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, and all day Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Matthew Schmucker residence, 5311 E. County Line Road, Bremen. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, also at the Schmucker residence. Bishop Michael Schwartz and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Road Amish Cemetery.
