Gail L. Benson-Sauers — UPDATED
Gail L. Benson-Sauers, 62, Huntington, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at her home. She was born on March 7, 1955, in Goshen to Warren G. and Miriam E. “Pat” Benson.
She was a lifetime Syracuse and Ligonier area resident before moving to Huntington in 2017, graduated in 1974 from Wawasee High School and attended Business College. She was the former owner and operator of Alteration & Repairs by Gail in Syracuse, formerly employed at Syracuse Dry Cleaners, and Tower Ribbon and Awards in Topeka.
She formerly attended the Church of the Brethren in Syracuse and enjoyed playing Bingo at the Knights of Columbus in Syracuse.
She is survived by two daughters: Amanda (Nathan) Holley, Huntington; Brianne (Chad Keefer) Sauers, Goshen; two granddaughters; brother, Jim (Pam) Benson, Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Janet Patrick and brother, Carl Benson.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw. Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery at a later date.
