Wawasee Basketball: Seniors Shine In Big Win
SYRACUSE – In their final appearance in the Hardwood Teepee, Wawasee’s senior trio walked out winners after a 36-32 girls basketball win over Plymouth Saturday night.
Kabrea Rostochak, Aubrey Kuhn and Hannah-Marie Lamle combined for 16 points, Rostochak with eight of those and adding five rebounds. Rostochak hit a big three to help Wawasee build a 25-16 lead after the third quarter. The Lady Warriors as a whole hit 7-9 free throws in the final quarter and 11-16 freebies overall.
Casey Schroeder led the Lady Warriors with 12 points and four steals, scoring all eight of Wawasee’s points in the first quarter.
Halle Reichard led all scorers with 13 points for the Pilgrims, keeping Plymouth’s hopes alive in the fourth quarter with three three-pointers made, her only field goals of the night. Claire Tanner added nine points.
Plymouth had no trouble with Wawasee in the JV game in a 35-17 final. Seven Lady Warriors scored, but Jadison Rostochak was the leading scorer with four points.
Wawasee (11-9, 2-4 NLC) has two games left, Tuesday at Tippecanoe Valley and Thursday to close out NLC play at Concord.
