Valley Basketball: Vikings Fall At Southwood
WABASH – A red-hot start carried host Southwood past Tippecanoe Valley 79-47 in boys basketball play Friday night.
The host Knights raced to a 21-9 lead after the opening frame and never looked back in downing the Vikings in Three Rivers Conference action.
Southwood, ranked No. 12 in Class 1-A, hit on 17-31 field goals in the opening half to take a 49-20 halftime lead. Valley was just 3-16 from the field in the first period and 8-30 for the first half.
Cam Parker led the Vikings with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Tanner Trippiedi had 11 points and Alex Morrison six for Valley.
The Vikings, who have lost six in a row, drop to 2-11 overall and 0-4 in TRC play.
PeytonTrexler scored 24 points and Matthew Nose had 18 for the Knights.
Southwood, which has won nine of its last 10 games, improves to 9-3 overall and leads the TRC at 4-0.
Valley hosts Manchester next Friday night. Southwood hosts Whitko Tuesday night.
