Edgewood Girls Basketball
The Edgewood Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team went 2-0 in their own Tiger Classic.
Edgewood opened play with a 31-15 win over Churubusco.
Avery Fitzgerald led the way for the winners with 10 points. Taylon Chastain and Macy Bonifield each had six points, while Jordan Love scored four points. Katie Mckibbin and Bonnie Hampton led the defense.
Fitzgerald scored seven points as Edgewood defeated Westview 34-21.
The trio of Zoe Bergen, Emily Bugg and Bonifield each had six points with Love scoring five and Hampton four. Callie Holland and Lily Kelsey led the defense.
The Edgewood 7th grade ladies improve to 5-1.
Lakeview Girls Basketball
The Lakeview Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team went 1-1 in the Tiger Classic hosted by Edgewood.
The Tigers dropped a 19-18 final to Westview in game one.
Cora West had six points and Sydni Purvis and Tori Jones each added four. Reggan Meadows and Kiersten Parker each had two points.
Lakeview then defeated Wabash 46-29.
Purvis popped in 15 points to lead the way in the win. West had 10 points and Yasminn Avila nine. The trio of Jones, Meadows and Leslie Escutia each had four points.
Lakeview is now 3-1 and will host Tippecanoe Valley on Monday.
The Lakeview 7th grade team went 2-0 in the Lakeview Classic.
Lakeview edged past Westview 28-25 in its first game of the tourney. Macy Perry led the way with 10 points. Rylee Burns scored eight points and Lauren Grose had four and Riley Boren and Macy Wayne two each.
Grose scored 18 points as the Tigers then topped Wabash 35-25. Burns had eight points and Wayne six, while Boren added two.
Lakeview improves to 4-0 and will host Tippecanoe Valley Monday.
