Meredith ‘Mickey’ R. Pendley
Meredith “Mickey” R. Pendley, 77, Rochester, passed away at 1:08 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at Life Care Center, Rochester.
He was born Dec. 11, 1940 in Marion, the son of Meredith Carmen and Mary K. (Truex) Pendley. On March 22, 1962, in Marion, Indiana, he married Evelyn Messler and she survives.
Pendley worked as a construction engineer for NIPSCO for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, had attended the Hillcrest Baptist Church and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, where he had been a Sunday school teacher and church bus driver for 35 years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Pendley, Rochester; daughter, Angela Pendley, Rochester; sons, Tony and wife Diane Pendley, Fair Hope, Ala., and Mark and wife Margaret Pendley, Rochester; Keith and wife Jessica Pendley, Bloomington; grandchildren, Lizza Downhauer- Pendley, Norway, Caitin and wife Candace Pendley, Salt Lake City, Utah, Marissa and husband Aaron Fredericks, Ala., Tristan Pendley, Salt Lake City, Utah, Maegan Pendley, Rochester, Wyatt Pendley, Rochester; great grandchildren, Carlie Pendley, Utah, Jayden Fredericks, Alabama, Hannett Solem, Norway, Brookelynn Fredericks, Ala., Conner Pendley, Utah; sisters, Karen R. Sixbey, Rochester, Betty Jean McIntosh, LaPorte, Jamie Kate and husband Dave Davis, Michigan City; brothers, Dennis Roger and wife Judy Holcomb, Sweetser, Richard and wife Peggy McIntosh, LaPorte, and James and wife Mary Brooks, Michigan City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cheryl Guerin, Shelia Curtis and Rebecca McIntosh; and brother, Robert McIntosh.
A church service in Pendley’s memory will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Liberty Baptist Church, Rochester, Ind. with Pastor Bill McSpadden officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Bus Ministry.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.
