CVB 2018 Leadership And Destination Planning
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced their 2018 leadership line up.
Erin Rowland, Rowland Law Office, served three years as chairwoman of the board of directors. She has stepped down from the leadership role but is continuing as immediate past chair while she begins her second three-year term on the board. Rowland lead the organization’s team through a new executive search, the formation of an active governance committee, implementation of board of director’s agreement to serve, risk management policy implementation, bylaw improvements, funding and financial protocols and more in her time as chair. She contributed countless volunteer hours in her leadership role to propel the CVB mission forward.
Bob Jackson, Regional Director of Development, Grace College, was elected to the helm as chairman of the board for 2018. James Hurley, General Manager, Wyndham Garden Hotel Warsaw, was elected vice chairman. Both Jackson and Hurley began serving as an active board member in January 2017.
Staci Young, assistant to the mayor of Warsaw, is serving her third year as secretary. Doug Hanes, AVP/Commercial Lending – Business Development, First Federal Savings Bank, is serving his second year as treasurer.
Two new board members join the organization. Brenda Rigdon, development director of Kosciusko County Community Foundation, and Bob Abel, vice president of human resources at Zimmer Biomet, began their first three-year term Jan. 9.
The remaining board of directors for 2018 are: Jill Garris, Oakwood Resort; Nick Hauck, The Village at Winona, Megan McClellan, Syracuse-Wawasee Park Foundation/Trails; Tyler McLead, Syracuse Parks Department; Matt Metzger, Grace College; and Mindy Truex, Creighton’s Crazy Egg Café.
“As the chief executive with years of experience in working with nonprofit boards, I can say with confidence the CVB’s board of directors is one of the best. They are involved, talented, passionate and committed to our mission as a specialized economic development organization as it relates to the economic impact of tourism wealth,” said, Jill Boggs, executive director.
The board and staff are diligently working to finalize its 2018 – 2020 Strategic Destination Plan. Boggs and her team are aggressively working on the annual rolling Marketing and Business Plan that supports the working detail behind accomplishing established strategic goals.
